Rules of the European Championships of Cross-country Skiing Marathons
The European Union of Cross-country skiing marathons organizes the open European Championships of cross-country skiing marathons every year.
The European Championships of cross-country skiing marathons consist of 2 valued races in classical and free technique. The following rules are valid.
Location: Both races at the same location and on the same weekend.
Number of the races: 2 races CT + FT = valuation (times will be added)
Length of the tracks: At least one race has to be 42 km; the 2nd race has to be at least 30 km. The maximum length shouldn’t exceed 50 km.
Eligible is each person, who has a valid EUC license.
The competitions are held open. There is no limitation of nationality.
The Championships are held with the agreement of the FIS rules for popular cross-country skiing races (ICR)
Eligible is each person, who has a valid EUC license
(Euroloppet Passport = License, valid for 10 years) and who has completed the 18th year of one’s life until January 1st of the year of the event.
Awarding of two races:
Individual results women additional age group results (Jun, D21, D31, D36, D41, etc.)
Individual results men additional age group results (Jun, H21, H31, H36, H41, etc.)
Team results (4 team members – the best 3 will be valued)
The following trophies and medals will be awarded:
Women Rank 1 to 3
European Championships of cross-country skiing marathons trophies + medals: gold, silver, bronze
Men Rank 1 to 3
European Championships of cross-country skiing marathons trophies + medals: gold, silver, bronze
Team Rank 1 to 3
European Championships of cross-country skiing marathons trophies + medals;
- gold, silver, bronze for each team member
Age Group Ranking: Winner’s medals for each age group (men and women)

Starting lineup:
At each race of the European Championships of cross-country skiing marathons, the absolutely first line is the elite line of the European Championships of cross-country skiing marathons.
1st Race
The best 15 men and best 5 women of the overall ranking of the European Championships of cross-country skiing marathons of the year before start in the elite starting lineup of the European Championships of cross-country skiing marathons
2nd Race
The best 15 men and the best 5 women after the first race start in the European Championships of cross-country skiing marathons elite starting lineup.
